Mann is cured of her blindness after a risky corneal transplant; but a series of inexplicable events lead her to believe there is more than meets the eye to her new gift of sight. Mysterious black-clad figures seem to foreshadow sudden deaths, haunting her everyday existence. She comes to understand that she doesn't see herself in the mirror - she sees Ling, the original Thai owner of the corneas.

Mann discovers that Ling was clairvoyant, but her failure to save villagers from a fire she predicted sent her into a depression which led to her suicide. Now it seems Mann has inherited Ling's fate. When the black harbingers of death return in their hundreds it seems that tragedy is about to strike again. Only Mann can stop it but is her fate already predetermined or does she have the courage and strength to change the future?
