This is a movie tells the life of Suriyothai, from her teenage to her death at 1548.
In 1528, a beautiful young princess Suriyothai, has to make the choice between two young men from the royal family: Piren, her cousin who she loves, or Tien, the eldest son of the "second king". She later accepted the arranged marriage with Tien.
Though at the beginning, she loves her husband not as much as her husband loves her, she still fulfils her responsibility of a wife, and offers help and advice to her husband. The couple comes across 20 years of difficulties, which are filled by death of kings, wars, coups and conspiracies.
Prince Tien comes to the throne as King Mahachakrapat in 1548. Soon the rival of Ayutthaya, Hongsawasdi (Burma), launches an expedition towards Ayutthaya. In the crucial moment, Suriyothai joins with her husband, and at last sacrifice her life in the battlefield.
